Rockstar released GTA VI: An Extended Look on August 27, 2026. The official presentation uses in-game footage captured on PlayStation 5. That capture credit identifies the platform behind the shown scenes. By itself, it does not constitute a general performance test covering every situation in the finished game.[4][2]

Jason and Lucia at the centre of the story

The announced story follows Jason and Lucia, the two leads. Rockstar says a failed score draws them into a conspiracy across Leonida. The fictional state includes places such as Vice City and the Leonida Keys. The premise puts the pair’s dependence on each other at its centre, without supplying a complete mission list.[3]

Details in the accompanying gameplay report

PC Gamer’s coverage of the official Extended Look describes switching between Jason and Lucia during combat without a loading screen. It also reports aiming at individual body parts, including legs. These are journalistic gameplay reports. They do not provide tested controls or a reproducible walkthrough based on our own gameplay sessions.[1]

Police descriptions and disguises

Other reported details include police descriptions covering the person, car, clothes and companions, alongside changing masks, glasses and hats on the fly. Their interaction in every pursuit is not fully established. Our wanted-system and disguise entries collect the specific statements without turning one example into a universal rule for every police encounter.[1]

Update: vehicle scanning and theft

GameStar’s September 30 overview adds detail about smartphone functions: WAiNK reportedly shows a car’s security, black-market value and personal-vehicle registration cost. Theft difficulty is also reported to vary by vehicle. The reviewed passage leaves specific tool requirements open. Our WAiNK and vehicle-theft entries distinguish those reports from suggestions about how the system might work.[5]

RideMe: journeys and conversations

RideMe is described as a ride-hailing service on the in-game smartphone. GameStar reports journeys between areas and conversations with fellow passengers. This adds a use beyond the previously covered social-media feed. The presenter then suggests a possible journey-skip option; we do not list that suggestion as an established feature.[5]

Jason and Lucia: partnership and relationship

Famitsu’s August 28 interview with Rob Nelson adds further detail. Jason and Lucia, the two playable protagonists, can maintain their romance or cooperate as accomplices. Their closeness affects interactions such as holding hands and kissing. Some story sections restrict switching, while the uncontrolled protagonist follows activities around shared hideouts. This does not establish particular story endings.[6]

Cash, bank accounts and shared hideouts

Nelson distinguishes carried cash from a bank balance. Death or arrest can cost the character money held on them, without the interview specifying balance limits. Open-world earnings matter to the story because mission income alone is insufficient. Shared hideouts change with story chapters. This does not describe unrestricted purchases of every building.[6]

Theft tools, Pay & Spray and garages

Unlike the open tool question in the GameStar passage, Famitsu names specific equipment for older versus newer or high-security cars. A key cloner copies electronic key data. Alarms and trackers can draw police attention to a stolen car. Pay & Spray reportedly offers repairs, basic repainting and personal-vehicle registration. A sale brings an unspecified cooldown at that location. Purchasable garages provide additional personal-vehicle storage.[6]

Carrying weapons, storage and escaping police

Large weapons are reportedly carried visibly and can be stored in vehicles or Ammu-Nation lockers. Nelson distinguishes reactions to how a gun is carried; every long gun does not instantly cause panic. Suppression fire, shooting near rather than directly at a target, can create an escape opportunity. Police searches consider witnesses and reported identifiers such as clothing, cars and weapons. Criminal Profile influences how aggressively the surrounding world reacts to player conduct. We have not independently tested success rates.[6]

Smartphone and workouts: what the preview actually describes

The smartphone is represented as an object in the world. Nelson says Jason and Lucia can view others’ posts and send each other photos, but cannot upload their own photos publicly. Scooter Bros delivers a personal vehicle. Gym workouts involve stamina and controlled repetitions, while food and drinks can temporarily strengthen gauges. These descriptions enrich the database rather than constituting independently tested step-by-step guides.[6]
